Bruce as been involved with providing telecommunications over the years. For many years it was with small satellite phones which would allow one to do small text e-mails only and phone calls at great expense. In 2003 we were one of the first in the country to change over VSAT, a satellite internet system which radically changed our lives. Finally having internet which was better and more dependable then what was provided in the city to our guest house. This operated 24/7 with batteries and inverters. For many years the missionaries could go on the internet via a dial-up link to the modem. Now wireless signal covers the complete mission, a tall tower has recently been erected with will allow us to strengthen the signal on the station and reach out farther a field. Many of the hospital, school of nursing staff and also the local school now are able to have internet access.
